Rukban
The brief
UNICEF needed to explain its water and hygiene support for the isolated Rukban settlement near the Syria-Jordan border. With on-location filming unsuitable for this story, the piece had to make daily life and the scale of the service understandable through animation.
Production approach
Fine Line produced the animation in Beirut around a young narrator's point of view. The story moves from ordinary routines to the safe-water system supporting the settlement, using a personal voice to organise information about a place many viewers have never seen.
Outcome
The two-minute film turns programme information into a human-scale explanation of UNICEF's work, including safe water supplied to roughly 7,500 residents with ECHO support. Animation keeps the account accessible while making the remote setting legible.
