Child Labour
The brief
Save the Children needed to document child labour in Tripoli and Akkar while protecting the children represented. The production therefore had to communicate the conditions of work without relying on identifiable portraits or sensational images.
Production approach
Fine Line used a black-and-white social-documentary language, filming close details of work and place while withholding faces. Ambient sound carries much of the environment, allowing routine gestures and physical spaces to describe the children's daily reality.
Outcome
The resulting impact film gives Save the Children a grounded account of the issue that can be shared without exposing the participants' identities. Its visual restraint keeps attention on the conditions being documented rather than on individual recognition.
