I Am Strong
The brief
The Embassy of Canada commissioned a documentary about the resilience of Lebanese women after the 2024 war. The film needed to hold personal testimony and a wider national experience together, while remaining accessible in the three languages used by its intended audiences.
Production approach
Fine Line filmed across Lebanon with theatre artist and life coach Assil Ayyash as both narrator and participant. Her own account provides a thread between the women she meets, allowing individual stories to accumulate into a collective portrait instead of appearing as isolated interviews.
Outcome
The completed 17-minute documentary was delivered in English, French and Arabic. Its multilingual versions carry the same first-person structure to different audiences while preserving the women's accounts as the centre of the film.
